The Time of Trouble!
Are we now seeing the beginning of trouble? Will this trouble
increase in intensity as we approach the real Time of trouble?

God will Save His People at the End

We are living in unsettling and dangerous times. An atmosphere of war, bloodshed, and terror seem to be taking over much of the world. World governments are becoming more unstable. In addition, our liberties and freedoms are quickly eroding away and we face the prospect of dramatic financial disaster and civil unrest in the near future.

Conditions are becoming so unstable that people are beginning to look ahead to the future with fear. Could these things actually relate to what is written in Daniel and Revelation of the Bible? I believe so. The Bible speaks of the time of the end as being a very serious time; "a time of trouble such as never was"!

  1. And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. Daniel 12:1

It is God's people who will be delivered. Jesus will deliver everyone who's name is found in the book of life! But all the wicked will be thrown into the lake of fire.

  1. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15

Only God's people's names are written in the Book of Life!

We are Not to Worry if We are Christians

Now this great time of trouble is when things really get difficult and dangerous on Earth. Yet God's people will not worry about dying at that time, because no true Christian will die once the actual Great time of trouble has started. As we saw above in Daniel 12:1, Michael has already stood up. That means probation is at an end:

  1. And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. Daniel 12:1

So when Michael stands, the great time of trouble starts, a time such as never was. Since God's people are said to be delivered, it means that Jesus will be coming to pickup His people soon after Michael stands.

Before we continue we need to solve something that will help us understand Michael's role. So, who is Michael really, and why is it that when he stands that this great time of trouble starts? Why isn't it God or Jesus who stands? Why would an angel have such an important role?

If you want to know who Michael really is, Click on the link to the right: Who is Michael the Archangel in the Bible? (A new window will appear)

Who is Michael the Archangel? Why does Michael take on activities that God should be doing?

If you have clicked on the other page about Michael you will know that the Bible shows that Michael is really the Son of God which is Jesus.

So, when Michael stands up we know that this is Jesus and in Revelation we see Him as making this statement:

  1. "He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still." Revelation 22:11

This is the close of probation. Since God's people will always be righteous and holy, there is no need for them to any longer face actual death.

Again, before we continue with this subject of the time of trouble, we need to ask how judgement takes place in the Bible. So, where in the Bible does the Bible talk about a close of probation? This is another Bible subject that will also help in our understanding. There is a special day of Atonement that really is the day of judgement.

Learn how Jesus always lives to make intercession for us. If you want to know what the Bible says about the Atonement and the close of probation, click on the link to the right. (A new window will appear)

What is the Atonement in the Bible? Was the Atonement completed at the Cross? Or is there more to learn from the Bible concerning the Atonement of our sins.

Before the Great Time of Trouble

Before the great time of trouble, there will be a time where things will continually get worse. A build-up before the big trouble. At this time Jesus is still seated and He always lives to interceed for us and our sins.

  1. Also there were many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing.
  2. But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood.
  3. Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:23-25

Jesus continues to make intercession for those who come to God through Him. Thus He is able to save His people to the uttermost. It is an unchangeable priesthood since Jesus continues to live

So, during this time, it is true that Christians could die because probation has not closed. But, even in this earlier time, we are told in the Bible not to fear things like wars and rumors of wars, famines, earthquakes and pestilences. These are the kinds of trouble that mark the beginnings of the time of trouble, before the really violent end.

  1. "And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
  2. "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.
  3. "All these are the beginning of sorrows. Matthew 24:6-8

But why would God tell us not to be worried about wars, famines, earthquakes, and diseases? These things can kill people. Is that nothing to worry about?

We must remember that God is talking to His own people. When we start to see these early signs that Jesus speaks about; God's people will not wonder if the end has already come. They will not wonder if the big nuclear war to end all life on our planet at this early time is about to happen. They will realize that God will be holding his hand over them and the world, because certain things must still happen first before the big guns begin to blow.

God's people, the 144,000 must be fully ready before God allows the real time of trouble to start. When everyone is ready, probation will close and the real trouble will start. It is then that the four winds of the earth will be allowed to flow on the earth. But God's people will be sealed. They will be protected.

  1. After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree.
  2. Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea,
  3. saying, "Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads."
  4. And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed: Revelation 7:1-4

But there is something else. God's people know that even before everything is let loose at the beginning of the time of trouble, they already have the best life-insurance policy possible. They know that if they are some how killed, they will still be raised to life in the resurrection of the righteous to live forever in heaven.

God's People are the Children of God

God's people are the children of God, and thus they are also heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. So, they don't need to be worried about dying because of the glory that God will give them when they are raised to life again!

  1. The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
  2. and if children, then heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
  3. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Romans 8:16-18

So, we need not worry or fear about the things we may suffer. Instead we are admonished to be faithful unto death so that Jesus can give us a crown of life.

  1. Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
  2. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. Revelation 2:10-11

To all who overcome the temptations that Satan might give us, they will not be hurt by the second death. This means that they will live with God forever! More on this later.

Basically, God's people are to move forward doing God's work while not paying attention to the consequences. So there is a faith factor in this.

The early Christians that lived in Rome shared their faith and the church was growing extremely fast. The Romans were worried that they might become too big because the Christian church was becoming extremely popular. People were being baptized in to the church rapidly. So they persecuted the Christians.

But the early Christians followed the instructions Jesus Himself gave them. He said to rejoice and be exceedingly glad when you are persecuted, for great is your reward in heaven:

  1. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
  2. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.
  3. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Matthew 5:10-12

So, as the early Christians were led to the Roman Colosseum where they would be fed to the lions or to be lit on fire as human lanterns; The Romans saw that they were singing and praising God. They were actually praising God for this chance to show their faith to the world. But the Romans could not understand them at all. They acted as if they were going to a celebration! And here they were being joyful and happy that they were going to their death! Each time this happened, up to 45,000 in the Roman Colosseum saw how they died! This is one of the reasons why Christianity began to grow rapidly. The people saw something that they wanted.

The 144,000 Will Not Die

At the end, God's people who are numbered among the 144,000 will live to see Jesus come in the sky with clouds of angels. They will see people die all around them but they themselves will not die:

  1. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.
  2. Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.
  3. Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
  4. No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; Psalm 91:7-10

Certain of God's people have always stuck their necks out to give the message of God to those around them. So many of them have suffered death because of it. The same will be true for the end of time. However, there are some who will not die. They will be protected. But they will not lay low to allow that to happen. They will do what God's people have always done. However, God will especially protect the 144,000 so that they will live to see Jesus come.

We must realize that all these Bible verses are really speaking to those who are either God's people or those who want to be God's people. They are the ones who need not fear. But the wicked have plenty to fear. So, we must be sure that we are one of God's people and that we must not fight against God.

Following the wars etc., the anger of the nations will be directed toward God's people specifically. Christians will be hated and killed for Christ's sake:

  1. "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. Matthew 24:9

We can already see the beginnings of this kind of hatred against Christians and it will develop in very specific ways as outlined in prophecy. We will study these things on this page.

However, the most serious and fearful warning found in the Bible is not directed toward Christians. It is directed to those who are given the mark of the beast! Those people who will take the mark will be those who actually worship Satan. When they worship the beast and it's image, they are giving honor and worship to Satan.

  1. Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand,
  2. "he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
  3. "And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name." Revelation 14:9-11

So, the Mark of the Beast must be connected with Satan's struggle to rule the world. He will especially use force to get all to obey him. But, we are getting ahead of ourselves. Let's see what the Bible says about these topics.

Back to the Beginning
How did all this trouble start?

Let's go back to the beginning. How did all this trouble start? Why must there be a time of trouble or a time of sorrow? Why is Satan allowed to attack God's people the way the Bible says he can and will?

The simple answer is that Lucifer became dissatisfied with his position. He was no longer satisfied being the top angel in Heaven. Originally Heaven was in perfect peace. But Lucifer, the highest angel in Heaven became dissatisfied with the praise he was getting in heaven. He wanted more honor and praise. He wanted to be equal with God! He wanted to become like God!

  1. For you have said in your heart: I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north;
  2. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High. Isaiah 14:12-15 NKJV

He started a rebellion in Heaven. So, we must realize that sin actually started in perfect heaven where God lives, not here on earth. And it was caused by the leading angel who was the closest to God.

  1. You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones.
  2. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you.
  3. By the abundance of your trading You became filled with violence within, And you sinned; Therefore I cast you as a profane thing Out of the mountain of God; I (will destroy) thee, O covering cherub, From the midst of the fiery stones. Ezekiel 28:14-16 NKJV (will destroy) KJV

Sin actually started with Lucifer. He was perfect in all his ways until sin was found in him. That is when violence was found within him. So he will eventually be cut down and destroyed.

  1. How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations!
  2. For you have said in your heart: I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north;
  3. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.
  4. Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol (hell), To the lowest depths of the Pit. Isaiah 14:12-15 NKJV

He has also caused other angels to sin by rebelling with him. So, God forced both Lucifer and his angels out of heaven. Lucifer is now called the devil and Satan. He is the great dragon.

  1. And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought,
  2. but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer.
  3. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Revelation 12:7-9 New King James Version

So, all the angels which sinned, they were cast out of heaven. most of them have been chained until the end of time for the judgment.

  1. For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; 2 Peter 2:4

These evil angels were kicked out of heaven and God is eventually going to judge and destroy them. So as we read in Jude, these angels kept not their first estate.

  1. And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Jude 1:6

So, all these evil angels have now come down to the earth!

  1. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
  1. Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time. Revelation 12:9, 12 New King James Version

So we should realize that we are not alone. Angels of heaven who have become evil were kicked out of heaven. They kept not their first first estate. These angels are now also called demons and they have been cast to the earth. They have great and extreme anger because they have been kicked out of heaven and they also know that they will be destroyed. So their anger is directed at us because they know they can get back at God by doing this.

Satan Now Finds Himself in a New Position

Satan and all his followers, have now been kicked out of Heaven. They have no place to go. But God has just created a new world, the Earth. So Satan decides to go to the Earth and tempt Adam and Eve who have just been newly created.

  1. Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.
  2. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat;
  3. "but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." Genesis 2:15-17

We can see that God put a tree in the garden that they were not to eat from. It was a test of loyalty that God placed on them. If they wanted to be happy they were not to eat of that tree. But if they did eat of that tree, they would die. That was the big test they were to be judged on.

Now God apparently placed a limitation on Satan. He could only meet them at that tree. If Adam and Eve had stayed away, they would never have been tempted.

But we know the story. Eve came by to look at the tree and wonder: Why? . . . And Satan started on her.

  1. Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?" Genesis 2:15-17

We know that she fell and then she took the fruit to Adam and he fell. By reading Genesis 3 we can tell that they were unhappy and afraid from that day forward. So, this is the beginning of the troubles that mankind has had to experience.

God acts

Adam and Eve now face death, as we all do. However we have the first clue that they will be given a second chance.

  1. And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel."

While the language is directed toward the snake, we can see that God is really placing enmity between the devil and man! And more specifically, this reference of man is really pointing toward Christ! Jesus will bruise Satan's head, meaning Satan will suffer permanent death and destruction. While Satan will only be able to bruise Jesus' heel, which is not a serious wound.

Today we know that Jesus was victorious and that Satan now absolutely knows that he will be destroyed. But he is stubborn enough and mad enough that he will not give up. We also know that Jesus has through is death on the cross is able to save us through the shedding of his blood!

A Meeting in Heaven
Satan Claims the Earth!

In the book of Job we find that there was a day when Satan appeared in a meeting in heaven. It must be in heaven because there is no record of God having regular meetings with the sons of God on Earth. Also, the text says that the sons of God came to where the Lord was to present themselves to Him. So, it must be in heaven.

Satan is apparently not suppose be there because it sounds like he is uninvited. So God asks why he has come:

  1. Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them.
  2. And the LORD said to Satan, "From where do you come?" So Satan answered the LORD and said, "From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it." Job 1:6-7 NKJV

We are looking at a meeting of extraterrestrials, people from other worlds. Each member at the meeting is a representative of their own world. We can know that this is a meeting of representatives because of how Satan says he has a right to be there. We will see that Satan is saying that he is the representative of Earth! So what we have here is a system of government for the Universe that God Himself oversees.

Apparently this was an important event. In this meeting the sons of God are presenting themselves before the Lord. It seems that all who were there, except one, had a right to be there. At least we do not have any record of God questioning their presence. The whole point of this part of the story is that Satan was not invited. When God asked Satan why he was there, he essentially answered: from walking around on the Earth.

Is Satan claiming ownership of the Earth? He must be. Satan had conquered Adam who originally was the representative for the Earth, so in Satan's mind that now makes him the leader of our world.

In the meeting, Satan seems to conclude that he either owns or rules our world. He is actually claiming rulership of the Earth in that meeting! That is why he probably went to the meeting. He sees himself as the leader of the whole planet Earth. This meeting most likely is a meeting of the leaders of the Universe with God; So Satan felt he had a right to be there.

We can determine this point of rulership further from the following discussion:

  1. Then the LORD said to Satan, Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?
  2. So Satan answered the LORD and said, Does Job fear God for nothing?
  3. Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.
  4. But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!
  5. And the LORD said to Satan, Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person. So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD. Job 1:8-12.

Because of the fact that God answers Satan, we should understand that what they were talking about was extremely important! Why didn't God just throw Satan out? God already threw Satan out of Heaven once before. God could have thrown Satan out again, but He didn't. He definitely has the power to do so. But instead, God just questioned Satan verbally and challenged his stated position.

We should realize that the manner in which God answered Satan is important as well. They were not talking by themselves, there was an audience surrounding them. All the representatives of the whole Universe were there personally witnessing what was happening.

Remember, we most likely are looking at a meeting of extraterrestrials. Each member at the meeting is a representative of their own world. A system of government for the Universe that God Himself oversees.

Since Satan himself has rebelled against God, we can see that the rebellion was now trying to enter into the system of government of God's Universe! If it was a matter of power, God could have destroyed Satan right there, or He could have just thrown him out. But God did not. Instead, God entered into dialog with him.

Let's talk about the dialog itself. If this discussion wasn't concerning ownership or rulership of the Earth; then, why does God answer Satan's statement of walking over the face of the Earth, with: "Have you considered my servant Job. . ."?

In this discussion, by saying that he walks over the face of the earth; What Satan is really saying is this: that he has control of the Earth. So God begins questioning Satan's claim by pointing his attention to Job, whom Satan is not able to control. What God is doing, is to show that Satan really does not control the world. So, God emphasizes the fact that Job is upright, just, and that he fears God.

I can imagine that Satan here begins to squirm as he essentially says: Well of course Job likes you. You give him everything he wants, why wouldn't he obey You? So God tells him: OK, I'll let you try. We'll see who really is in control, but you can't touch his body to make him sick.

There is an important issue that is being decided here. Job is to be persecuted because God is saying that Satan does not control the whole world. So if Job is victorious over the temptations that Satan places on him, Jobs' example will prove that God is right.

If you read the book of Job, you will see that Job does not know a thing about this discussion. He is clearly having a hard time with the reality of his bad fortune. In addition he is forced to consider, from an earthly point of view, why all sorts of bad things are happening to him. Satan seems to be controlling all Job's personal friends as well.

This story is very interesting. Apparently Satan's ownership of the Earth depends upon everyone being subject to Satan's leading. As long as Job was a decided follower of God, Satan could not claim the Earth. We actually do not know if Job was the only follower of God, but at least he was the one that God chose to mention.

Does this war Between God and Satan depend upon the allegiance of people, of God's people? It would seem so, the whole story in the book of Job is dependent on the idea that things will be decided, on what one person does on earth. If Job continues to follow God then God has the advantage, on the other hand, if Job listened to his wife and friends and cursed God, then Satan would have had the advantage. That is if he was the only righteous person on the world.

A second meeting of the sons of God with God is described in Job chapter two. Again the same issues are brought up but with slightly different specifics in the arguments. Satan failed the first time around to change Job's allegiance from God to himself. So this time he is calling fowl. He still claims the Earth as his and he wants even more power in trying to force Job to obey him. Read the account and see what happens.

  1. Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
  2. And the LORD said to Satan, From where do you come? So Satan answered the LORD and said, From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.
  3. Then the LORD said to Satan, Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil? And still he holds fast to his integrity, although you incited Me against him, to destroy him without cause.
  4. So Satan answered the LORD and said, Skin for skin! Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life.
  5. But stretch out Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will surely curse You to Your face!
  6. And the LORD said to Satan, Behold, he is in your hand, but spare his life.
  7. So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD, and struck Job with painful boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. Job 2:1-7.

We can see from the actual text that Satan still claims the Earth. It seems that Satan believes that if all people were under his control then the Earth would rightfully belong to him! There also seems to be some truth to Satan's claim since God counters Satan on the very level that Satan is thinking on.

It seems that these meetings are a regular event and here, God counters Satan's claim by pointing to Job which Satan was unable to control. God adds to what He said before by stating: he still holds to his integrity. Also very interesting to note, we see that God takes the blame! He doesn't say that Satan is moving to destroy Job but He says that you have moved me against him, to destroy him.

Where do we Find Ourselves
as Trouble is Coming on the Face of the Earth

So, war started in heaven. Satan tried to win the angels of heaven against God. But he failed. Only one third followed him and on top of that; They were all kicked out of heaven.

He next came to win the earth and he did fairly well by causing both Adam and Eve to sin. But God stepped in causing a few people to have a power to resist him. Down through the history of our world there has alway been at least one person, sometimes more, who were true to God rather than Satan.

The end of time is about here and Satan is seen to control most of the people of our world. However, there are people that God controls as well. So, Satan knows that he is running out of time.

In addition, we find in Revelation that God will actually have 144,000 who are his people. Not just one or two, but 144,000 will be true to God!

What Holds Back Satan Now?

So, what is it that keeps Satan and his evil angels from causing the time of trouble right now? What is holding him back?

  1. The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? Matthew 22:44

The Father said to Jesus "Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool. Now Jesus is waiting for the time when He can come back in His second coming. But, we can see that there is a waiting period. Thus we can see that it is God who must be holding Satan back.

  1. Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
  2. That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
  3. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3
God's people were expecting Jesus to come in their life time 2000 years ago. But the workings of Satan had to be fully revealed first. So the people were told that they had to wait so that the work of Satan could be revealed. But there is an even more important reason why the time of trouble would be delayed.

It is God's people who are holding back the trouble of the end time. In verse 1 we see that four angels are holding back the four winds of the earth. Terrible destruction is kept from the earth till God's people can be readied for that time. God's people must be settled into the truth of God. They must be fully decided for God. That other angel is crying with a loud voice to keep holding until all of God's people are ready, until all of God's servants are sealed on their foreheads. We are also told that there will be 144,000 of them.

Jesus came down to die for our sins. He does not want to lose one person that could be saved. So everything is placed on hold until all of God's people are ready for the crisis.

The World in Turmoil

Obviously Satan has been attacking and tempting people down through the ages. However in the last days he will be able to step up the level of his attack. He will want to deceive as many people as possible.

So, as the time approaches, certain things will begin to happen:

  1. And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
  2. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. Matthew 24:4-5

Apparently many are going to be convinced that one of these false Christ's is actually Jesus because they do not know the truth. They do not know the Scripture that describes the actual second coming of Jesus:

  1. Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. Revelation 1:7.

We are to believe it not, if someone tells us that Christ has come. Because every eye will see Him. It will not be a secret thing and all the tribes of the earth (The wicked) will mourn because Jesus is coming.

  1. Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
  2. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
  3. Behold, I have told you before.
  4. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
  5. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Matthew 24:23-27.

Lightning will go from the east to the west. The coming of Jesus will be like that. No wonder that everyone will see Him!

Also, as we saw above the political world is going to become much more unstable. Wars and rumors of wars will be what's happening. But not only that; We will see famines, pestilences, and earthquakes.

  1. And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
  2. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
  3. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Matthew 24:6-8

Today, farmers are having to buy their seed every year unlike how it used to be because everything is becoming cloned. In order to buy their seed, the farmer will have to barrow money to buy that seed. However, what happens if their is an economic crash? Will farmers still be able to grow and harvest crops? Maybe not. Today the US dollar could be ready to lose it's value. Is that all that would be needed to start a famine?

Satan will create strong fear as these things start happening and the people will do anything to have peace and tranquility again.

God's People Persecuted

What will probably happen is that God's people will be blamed for all the trouble in the world, or it will be promoted that God is angry because the righteous will not go along with the rest of the world in worshipping Satan. What ever the reason, there will be a deep hatred of God's people. It will be Satanically inspired. So, the people of the world will be urged to attack God's people. To persecute them.

Initially, this hatred will be held back by the four angels that holds back the winds of strife.

  1. "Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake.
  2. "And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.
  3. "Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.
  4. "And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
  5. "But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
  6. "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:9-14

Despite the fact that some will be killed, the four angels will be holding back the winds of strife so that God's people will be able to preach the everlasting Gospel to the whole world. It is then and only then that the end will come.

  1. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
  2. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
  3. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
  4. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Mark 16:15-18

But when Satan sits down in Jerusalem as God, it is then that probation closes. It is then that Michael will stand and the great time of trouble will start.

  1. And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
  1. And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. Daniel 11:45-12:1

He sets down in his palace in the glorious holy mountain and as a response, Michael stands up. It is at this time that the work of trying to reach the whole world will be finished. So, we can see that the verses below speak of a much harder time.

  1. "Therefore when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand),
  2. "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
  3. "Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house.
  4. "And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.
  5. "But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
  6. "And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.
  7. "For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.
  8. "And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened. Matthew 24:15-22
